On the 12th of Cheshvan 5782 (Monday, October 18, 2021) my sister passed away from esophageal cancer. Her 59th birthday would have been in November. My sister made aliyah to Israel in 1983 and moved to Arad. In Arad, she raised her three children: Shani, Meshi and Yotam.
Nili helped people. Nili helped many people. She was a Partnership Director for the Jewish Agency and helped many people in Israel and abroad. She was always helping people and with a smile. When I would call or message her and ask where she was, the answer would range from Arad, Yerucham, Otef Gaza to New York, New Jersey, Florida and even Mexico. At her funeral, people I did not know would come up to me and tell me how wondeful she was and how she helped them.
Outside of work, she raised her three children and instilled in them good values. When the girls were little, we were walking on the midrechov in the center of Jerusalem and there was a begger on the other side of the walk. Many parents would think twice of approaching a stranger with little kids. My sister gave each of her daughters a coin to give to him.
Another example: When my mother (Hennia Richman a"h) passed away, Yotam, Nili's son, suggested that we give the furniture and appliances to a lone soldier who was in need.
Helping others and being there day or night when needed. That was my sister.
In Judaism it is called:
"Gemilut Hasadim" - Doing Acts of Loving Kindness
My sister was a loving parent, dear sister, good friend and she left us very good values and memories to cherish.
Today, tomorrow or whenever you can, please put a few coins in
any charity box in memory of: Nili bat Avraham Itzhak.
Thank You!
May her memory be for a blessing.
Jacob
